Applying the science of

well-being.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

... as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Well-being

The Positivity Company's science of well-being has two parts: Positive Psychology and Interpersonal Neurobiology.

What is Positive Psychology?
Psychology began more than one hundred years ago as a science devoted to the study of human thought, emotion and behavior.  For very good reasons, the field became devoted to research and treatment for people suffering from problems such as depression, anxiety and schizophrenia. Psychology discovered how to help people heal. A lot was learned and millions of people were  helped.

Positive Psychology was born during the past decade, when some psychologists realized that alleviating suffering was not enough

We realized not being sick is different from being well - Not being depressed is quite different than actually being happy.

Positive Psychology is devoted to research and helping people with topics like - happiness, life satisfaction, resilience, flow, and strengths.

[Here are some of our favorite positive psychology scientists.]

What is Interpersonal Neurobiology?
Scientists have known for a long time that the wiring of our brains affects our thoughts and actions.

Recent Interpersonal Neurobiology research shows that our thoughts and actions change the wiring in our brains.

This simple yet profound finding has applications to all aspects of our lives.

For example, functional MRI’s and PET Scans show that when you think (or do) the same thing over-and-over your brain cells grow connections to operate more efficiently.

It becomes easier and easier to think or do the same thing (for better or worse).

In short - what fires together - wires together*

The impact of emotions is really interesting, because if a network of brain cells fires with enough emotional energy - even just once - it can make brain cells connect together and create an instant long term memory.

In other words – Inspire to rewire*
